It was my first experience with financing a vehicle so I was a bit hesitant at first. Jeff said not to worry and he would take good care of us and that he did. He made the whole process very easy and went into great depth to help with understanding everything. Jason was really great as-well and did the same. Hi ! I couldn’t have been happier with my visit to Seaway Hyundai , David was right there to welcome me making me feel relaxed and not pressured, he found me a vehicle that he thought would suit me ,he listened to everything I had to say with curtesy to my age , he didn’t make me feel old and clueless. Great experience at Seaway Hyundai! We were on a family holiday and unfortunately blew a tire on the 401 just outside of Cornwall on a Sunday night. The next day at 8:30am I had a call from the Service Department. By 10:30am our car was ready to go! Very friendly and professional staff. Cole, our Service Advisor, went the extra mile to get us back on our trip! I didn't spend much time in the dealership, but it was modern and clean.

So I’d just like to share my experience buying 2 BRAND new cars here. Bought my first Elantra at the end of 2018 brand new with 34km on it. Had issue after issue with it, coils misfiring 4-5 times, steering column broken etc only had it a year and a half and went back to Hyundai to trade it in for a brand new 2020 Hyundai Tucson let’s just say the problems I’ve had with the Tucson would have cost thousands had I not bought the extended warranty. Head gasket leak, water pump issue, catalytic converter had to be replaced, now I’m having my camshaft sensor problems the list goes on. It’s not a reliable car. Now moving onto the service there, their service is ok. Cole is great. But there’s one guy that could not care about any problems I bring. He’s dismissive . Instead of coming out to check the car which had an engine light on so I could show him the problem he just said earliest we can get you in is Friday (this was a Monday). I have 2 young children too so it adds to the stress of what is going to break next baring in mind I haven’t had to pay for any repairs because none of them have been ware and tear. I just feel screwed as I have been sold 2 brand new cars from this dealership and they have just give me problem after problem. (Update) 31-10-2025 Just got my car back from the shop, said there was no issues with sensors so swapped them around to possibly see if there’s an issue and if there is to bring it back! Wow. They have stated my car is burning too much oil (1.5 litres they had to top up) after I had an oil change not even 2 months ago so it’s a motor issue or sensor issue. Told me I have to pay $400 to get some cleaning done to the sensors etc to possibly rectify the issue. Absolutely shocking.

I took my car to Hyundai in Hamilton because it was shaking, and I explained the issue to them. They performed a service and charged me $500, assuring me that if I faced any further problems, I could go to any nearby Hyundai location to fix it for free. However, after the service, my car still has a vibration problem, and the screen is showing an error related to the service. I then went to Hyundai in Cornwall, but they said they were not aware of the Hamilton Hyundai service, and they charged me $87 for checking, yet the vibration issue was still not resolved, and the error is showing again. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of proper communication and follow-through between locations, and the fact that the original problem has not been fixed despite paying a significant amount.

I was very pleased with the customer service I received when purchasing my second-hand car, but unfortunately this level of support did not continue after the sale was completed. Only two months later, the battery failed, leaving me stranded and requiring assistance from CAA. They replaced the battery at a cost of $320 out of pocket and confirmed that it was the original factory battery, already at the end of its lifespan. When I contacted the manager, Will Colbert, I was informed that the battery had been “working fine” at the time of purchase and that inspections are limited to checking for corrosion, installation, and leaks. According to policy, if a battery powers the vehicle, it is not replaced. While I understand the policy, I was disappointed that a simple test was not performed during the inspection. In fact, within minutes I was able to verify by checking the serial number and date, and later uploading the information to ChatGPT, that the battery was past its expected lifespan. This could have been identified in advance, saving me from being stranded, missing work, calling CAA, and paying for an avoidable repair. In good faith, I requested that the dealership cover at least half of the $320 replacement cost, especially since I discovered that the extended warranty I purchased with the car does not cover the battery. I believe this would have been a fair and reasonable resolution. I have already accepted responsibility for another repair—the link kit replacement, which may have resulted from driving over a pothole. However, being sold a vehicle with its original expired battery—despite two safety inspections, one in Ontario and one in Quebec—was both unexpected and disappointing, and not in line with the level of service I had initially experienced.
